Labs on wheels: Meet our scientists

Join us for a fun, informal, and accessible evening during which scientists from across Europe come together to discuss with you! Come to listen mermaid´s song of the scientists and drink a sip of the Ocean with them!

The key topic will be TREC (not Star Trek but European coastal-TREC) a one-of-a-kind research expedition that focuses on the connection between land and sea at European coastlines. An expedition studying life in context, studying life where it happens and not in the lab. Scientific expeditions are key to gathering new knowledge about our planet. TREC pioneers the use of mobile laboratories to understand how ecosystems are impacted by different environmental factors, such as pollution, loss of biodiversity, and climate change.

Questions are highly encouraged! Please note that English will be the main language of this adult-oriented event.

¡Anímate y únete a nosotros en una velada divertida, informal y accesible durante la cual científicos de toda Europa se reunirán para debatir contigo! ¡Ven a escuchar el canto de sirena de los científicos y bebe un sorbo del océano con ellos!

El tema clave será TREC (no Star Trek, sino TREC-costero-europeo), una expedición de investigación única en su clase que se centra en el estudio de la conexión entre la tierra y el mar en las costas europeas. Una expedición que estudia la vida en contexto, estudiando los organismos vivos donde habitan en las zonas costeras y no en el laboratorio. Las expediciones científicas son clave para recopilar nuevos conocimientos sobre nuestro planeta. TREC es pionera en el uso de laboratorios móviles para comprender cómo los ecosistemas se ven afectados por diferentes factores ambientales, como la contaminación, la pérdida de biodiversidad y el cambio climático.

¡Se recomienda encarecidamente hacer preguntas! Ten en cuenta que el inglés será el idioma principal durante este evento orientado a personas adultas.

Laborategi bat gurpilen gainean eta zientzialariak itsasoan

Etor zaitez gurekin arratsalde dibertigarri, informal eta iriste erraz batean, Europa osoko zientzialariekin elkartzera eta eztabaidatzera! Zatoz zientzialarien lamiaren abestia entzutera eta bota haiekin ozeanoaren zurruta!

Gai nagusia TREC (ez Star Trek, Europako kostaldeko TREC-a baizik) izango da, Europako kostaldeetako lur eta itsasoaren arteko loturan zentratzen den ikerketa-espedizio berezia. Bizia testuinguruan aztertzen duen espedizioa, bizia gertatzen den kostadetako lekuan eta ez laborategian aztertzen duena. Espedizio zientifikoak funtsezkoak dira gure planetari buruzko ezagutza berriak biltzeko. TREC aitzindaria da laborategi mugikorren erabileran ekosistemei ingurumen-faktore ezberdinek hala nola, kutsadura, biodibertsitatearen galera eta klima-aldaketa nola eragiten dieten ulertzeko.
